H1-B Visa Quota für 2004 erreicht
U. S. Citizenship
& Immigration Services (USCIS) gaben am 17.2.2004 bekannt, dass der H1-B
Visa Quota für das fiscal year 2004 in Höhe von 65.000 Visas (vor
kurzum von 195.000 auf 65.000 reduziert) aufgebraucht ist. Neue Anträge
können ab 1. April 2004 eingereicht werden, eine Bearbeitung erfolgt
jedoch erst nach dem 1. Oktober 2004, sofern wieder 65.000 H1-B Visas vom
Congress freigegeben werden (für das fiscal year 2005). Von dieser Quota
nicht betroffen sind H1-B Visahalter, die eine H1-B Visa Verlängerung
beantragen oder den Arbeitgeber wechseln möchten.
U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services announced today that is has received
enough H1-B petitions to meet this year's congressionally mandated cap of
65,000 new workers. After today, USCIS will not accept any new H1-B petitions
for first-time employment subject to the Fiscal Year 2004 annual cap. Petitions
can be submitted effective April 1, 2004 for an employment date effective
October 1, 2004 when the fiscal year quota of 65,000 visas for 2005 will be
made available. This cap does not affect current H1-B workers who need to
renew their visas, or to change employers.
